LIU promotes exec to SVP of PP&T

Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has promoted Simon White to senior vice president (SVP) of its privacy, professional and technology (PP&T) product line.

White will have responsibility for all of LIU’s US PP&T, cyber and miscellaneous professional errors and omissions (E&O) business and will hold underwriting oversight of these products nationwide. He will be based in New York and report directly to Carl Pursiano, LIU’s executive vice president and chief underwriting officer of US specialty casualty.

“With cyber insurance growth on the rise, Simon’s leadership qualities and technical skills are the right fit for this role,” said Pursiano.

“I look forward to working with him as he and his team continue to offer innovative coverages that support LIU’s leading position in the cyber market.”

White joined LIU in 2014 after nearly 20 years as a broker with Aon and Marsh where he held various senior client advisory and transaction specialist roles working on behalf of large professional service firms and Fortune 500 companies.

“Computer hacking has become an unrelenting threat for companies large and small,” said White.

“We offer brokers a strong, experienced team that will give their clients a flexible policy tailored to help minimise the risks surrounding technology errors and omissions as well as data privacy breaches. I am excited to lead this team and work with them to develop new products and services that meet the ever-changing cyber landscape.”
