Lloyd's Probitas 'well positioned' to expand in international liability

Lloyd's underwriting syndicate Probitas 1492 is "well positioned" to expand its portfolio, according to its new head of international liability Alastair Herbert.

Herbert has joined Probitas with 35 years’ experience in the international market. He has led teams at XL Catlin, QBE and, most recently, helped found the specialist Liability MGU Carbon Underwriting.

“Alastair is well regarded in the market, and we’re delighted that he’s joining us at Probitas," said Neila Buurman, Probitas CUO for casualty. "His extensive insurance expertise will complement the existing team, allowing us to continue to grow the International Liability portfolio successfully.”

Stuart Hollins, senior international liability underwriter, commented: “I’m excited to have Alastair join the team, bringing his vast knowledge and experience to the business.”

Herbert commented: “I’m very pleased to re-join some of my friends and colleagues that I’ve previously worked with for many years. Probitas are extremely well positioned to expand their International Liability portfolio and I’m looking forward to helping them achieve the teams’ objectives.”
