Broker Lockton has poached Michael Lea, Ian Nichol and Jo Newman from JLT. They will join its existing international management liability (IML) team.
The IML team is part of the wider Lockton financial risks practice based in London.
Lea was previously head of JLT’s management liability team, and a founding member of the financial and professional risks division.
Nichol is a D&O risk specialist, with 27 years’ experience. He was previously a partner within JLT’s financial risks division.
Newman has 25 years’ industry experience, and has a particular focus on management liability risks including D&O, employment practices and pension trust liability risks primarily for major UK and European companies.
Neil Nimmo, Lockton Companies board member, said: “I am delighted that Michael, Ian and Jo have decided to join Lockton and this is a very exciting development for us. Their wealth of experience, exceptional industry contacts and market reputation will help us to extend and strengthen the reach of our financial risks practice, making it one of the strongest teams in the London market.
“As businesses become more global, and supply chains extend across multiple jurisdictions, management liability now crosses borders in a way it never did before. Clients want us to meet and manage their global exposures, Michael, Ian and Jo’s collective international expertise complements Lockton’s existing IML team perfectly. The team’s remit is to grow Lockton’s portfolio of major UK, European and international D&O clients, as well as augment our current service to our retail accounts.”
