LSM promotes exec to head of marine

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has promoted Michael Burle to head of marine for Liberty Syndicate, reporting to Peter Smith, active underwriter. Burle was previously LSM’s underwriting manager – war & terrorism, fine art & specie. He replaces Simon Clapham, who has taken on the new role of head of underwriting performance management across LSM. Smith said: “Michael is a highly respected specialist in his field. Having developed a range of market-leading products and a very strong team, this promotion is much deserved and will be well-received by the market.”
