Markel appoints non-executive director
Markel International has appointed Anne Whitaker as non-executive director.
After a career of nearly 30 years at EY, latterly as audit partner – investment management, Whitaker left the firm in 2008 to take up a number of voluntary, public sector and private sector roles.
“We are fortunate to have Anne join our board and to contribute her deep financial and business experience, based on a successful career in one of the world’s top four accountancy firms, to guiding our business as it grows and expands its international reach. Her range of experience, across the public and private sectors, will help further broaden the board’s perspective,” said William Stovin, president and chief operating officer of Markel International.
Whitaker is the third non-executive director on the Markel board, along with Ian Marshall, a senior adviser to the Financial Services Authority and Ralph Snedden, former chief executive of Euler Hermes International.
