Marsh appoints global head of aviation, Marsh JLT Specialty

Broker Marsh has appointed Garrett Hanrahan as global head of aviation, Marsh JLT Specialty. Effective from 15 April 2020, Hanrahan will succeed Simon Harker who is retiring after 44 years in the industry. Based in Dallas, Hanrahan will report to Lucy Clarke, president, Marsh JLT Specialty.

In this role, Hanrahan oversees Marsh JLT Specialty’s Global Aviation Practice, which advises many of the world’s airlines, manufacturers, airports, and other key industry players on their insurance and risk management programmes.

Hanrahan joined Marsh in 2013 and has extensive experience in the global aviation industry, having worked within the sector for over 25 years, most recently as US head of aviation for Marsh JLT Specialty.

Commenting on Hanrahan’s appointment, Clarke said: “Garrett is an outstanding expert in his field and we look forward to welcoming him to the role.
