Marsh & McLennan CEO named FACI chair

Marsh & McLennan Companies president and chief executive officer Dan Glaser has been named chairman of the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance (FACI).

FACI, which was formed by the US Department of Treasury in 2011, comprises insurance industry experts from business, academia, and consumer advocacy groups, as well as state insurance regulators.

It aims to provide advice to the FIO, which was created under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The committee’s charter was extended in 2013.

“I am honoured to have been asked to chair the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance,” said Glaser. “The committee is presented with a number of important domestic and international policy matters, and I look forward to working with director McRaith and my fellow members to address these important issues on behalf of our industry and the public.”
