McLarens Aviation targets European expansion

McLarens Aviation, a provider of survey and loss adjusting services to the global aviation industry, has opened a new office in Frankfurt, Germany while hiring a team of aviation adjusters.

The new German operation will expand the adjuster’s existing European footprint, which includes offices in London, Madrid, Moscow and Paris, and serve as a platform for further growth across Central Europe, the company said.

The team will be headed by managing director Germany, Mal Robinson, who has over 28 years experience in the aviation sector. Robinson launched GAB Robins’ German Aviation operation in 2007, before its merger with Crawford & Company in 2015. Prior to that, he spent 17 years in commercial aviation for a German aircraft company and two major airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways and British Airways.

Robinson is joined by Christina Voos as liability adjuster, and Jan Benke and Daniel Ehrhardt as surveyors.

Voos has worked in aviation loss adjusting for two years and specialises in airline passenger injury, cargo and airport operators liability claims, as well as claims relating to ground handling operations.

Benke has worked in aviation loss adjusting for three years, prior to which he worked for Cathay Pacific Airways as a licensed senior station engineer, responsible for servicing the airline’s modern fleet of aircraft. He also has experience working on fixed wing General Aviation, jets and rotor wing aircraft.

Ehrhardt has also worked in aviation loss adjusting for three years, prior to which he worked for third party German maintenance organisation NAYAK, as station manager in Frankfurt, servicing regional airlines and corporate jets.

Commenting on the appointments, Nigel Minett, managing director of McLarens Aviation, said: “Mal and his team are very well known and respected within the European aviation insurance market and we’re delighted to have them on board. Our strategy has always been about providing specialists at local level and continued investment in our global network. Given the importance of central Europe to the aviation sector, Germany is a country we’ve been looking at for some time and an obvious place for us to be.”
