McLarens swoops to poach top leader from rival in Asia push

Global loss adjuster  McLarens has swooped in to poach a top leader from Sedgwick to enhance its technical and complex loss capabilities in Asia.

The insurance services provider has hired Paul Hough (pictured) as technical director – Asia in line with its growth strategy in the region. Hough specialises in handling large and complex claims across a wide variety of claim types including power, machinery breakdown, construction and engineering and natural catastrophes.

Based in Singapore and reporting directly to Asia regional director Mike Campbell-Pitt, Hough will take responsibility for leading and enhancing McLarens’ technical and complex loss capability within the region.

Hough joins McLarens from international adjusting firm Sedgwick where he held the role of CEO for Singapore. He has 30 years of loss adjusting experience having entered the profession in 1992 after a ten-year career in the engineering industry. During that time, he has held several leadership roles at international adjusting firms including technical director and president director.

Campbell-Pitt said: “Paul brings a wealth of experience and will be instrumental in McLarens’ efforts to grow our technical and major loss capability across the region. We are delighted to have him on board.”

Hough commented: “ McLarens is an industry leader in specialty adjusting services worldwide, with a reputation for quality and technical excellence. I am pleased to take on this role and to be working with the team across Asia to expand and enhance our complex loss offering in the region.”
