MGA Ensurance grows underwriting team with two new hires

Niche construction and engineering MGA Ensurance has increased its underwriting team with the recruitment of Brad Green as senior underwriter and Courtney Varney as underwriting assistant.

Green joins the MGA with more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, 18 of which have seen him trading UK and international construction and engineering business within the London market. Previously he was at Aviva where he held the role of engineering and renewable energy senior underwriter. Before that, he held underwriting and leadership positions with Allianz Global Corporate Specialty, Chubb, and Canopius Syndicate where he was part of the Lloyd’s Construction Consortium.

Varney joins from Swiss Re Corporate Solutions where she spent 12 years, most recently as senior underwriting assistant. With these two new members, the Ensurance’s underwriting team has grown to 14 in the two years since it was formed.

Ensurance CEO Tim James said: “I’m pleased to welcome Brad and Courtney to Ensurance. Brad is well-established in the London construction and engineering market with the kind of technical knowledge and experience our brokers are looking for. Courtney has an excellent track record of delivery; together they are a strong addition to our underwriting team.”
