MGA Hive Aero taps ex-Antares, Chaucer as aviation underwriter

Hive Aero, a managing general agency (MGA) specialising in aviation hull war insurance, has hired Benjamin Davy as aviation underwriter from Antares Managing Agency.

Based in London, Davy will be responsible for underwriting the aviation hull and liabilities account and will work closely with chief underwriting officer Bruce Carman and class underwriter Will Gaunt.

Davy has over 12 years of experience in the aviation market, across multiple classes including aerospace, airline, general aviation and inwards reinsurance, having previously worked at Antares and Chaucer.

Carman said: “It gives me enormous pleasure to welcome Benjamin to Hive Aero and I am sure he will prove to be a great addition to the excellent team we already have in place. Benjamin brings new skills at what is a very exciting time in the continuing build out of Hive Aero.”

Davy commented: “I am excited by the opportunity of working with Bruce and the Hive Aero team. Hive has achieved a huge amount in a relatively short period. I look forward to being part of the expansion plan and further enhancing the first-class service offered to brokers and their clients.”
