MMC launches innovation centre
Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) has unveiled a data and analytics development platform in Ireland.
MMC companies such as Guy Carpenter and Marsh will be able to access the innovation centre, which is supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland and is expected to create up to 100 highly skilled jobs.
David Fike, who serves as chief technology officer, will serve as president of the centre.
Dan Glaser, president and chief executive officer of MMC, said: “We are proud to launch the Marsh & McLennan innovation centre in Dublin as part of our efforts to develop the next generation of data-driven technologies and analytics across our company.
“With nearly 600 employees in Ireland, Marsh & McLennan has benefited over the last four and a half decades from the skilled and global workforce in Ireland and the country’s culture of advancing technology and innovation.”
An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD added: ”Marsh & McLennan is an industry leader with a strong, established presence in the Irish economy, and this announcement builds on Ireland’s global reputation in research, development and innovation.
“The Irish Government has made a clear commitment to supporting this sector of the economy by providing funding and support to fuel innovation across industry, research and education. For our part, the Government will continue to implement the Action Plan for Jobs to secure the economic recovery through strong job creation.”
