MS Amlin draws AXIS/Argo property talent to expand in open market

Lloyd’s global re/insurer  MS Amlin Underwriting Limited (MS AUL) has hired a new head of open market property from AXIS as it looks to expand its portfolio in the US and internationally.

Julie Ferguson will join  MS AUL in the coming months, and report to Sam Geddes (pictured), head of property and allied lines.

Ferguson has more than two decades of experience in the property market. She joins from AXIS where she has spent the last five years as part of the global property team, responsible for managing and growing the international property portfolio, latterly as deputy head of global property.

Prior to AXIA, Ferguson was international property class underwriter at Argo where she helped build the international property book from its inception. She began her insurance career at Eagle Star before moving onto Chubb.

Geddes said: “I am delighted that Julie is joining our property team. As we look to expand our Open Market portfolio in the US and internationally, Julie’s expertise and leadership will be crucial. Her appointment reaffirms our dedication to investing in best-in-class talent and continued commitment to the property market.”
