MS Amlin poaches Marsh's head of energy liability

Lloyd's re/insurer  MS Amlin Underwriting has bolstered its marine energy practice with a senior hire from broker Marsh.

Richard Little has been appointed senior underwriter for marine energy liability. He will take up the role later this year and report directly to Kevin Massey, marine liability product group leader.

Little has nearly 20 years of industry experience, and joins from Marsh where he most recently held the role of head of energy liability team. During his 12-year tenure at Marsh he held various roles within the energy practice while constantly serving as a senior offshore property broker. He was also a member of the Marsh Technical Advisory Group, which debates and develops new market initiatives, wordings, and clauses. He began his career at JLT Agnew Higgins.

Laurence Humberstone, head of marine at MS Amlin, said: “Richard’s deep industry knowledge and proven market expertise, alongside his broking experience and deep roster of contacts, will be an asset to our business as we continue to focus on strengthening our Marine proposition and providing best-in-class services to our clients, brokers and distribution partners. I look forward to welcoming him to MS Amlin.”
