Munich Re ties up with insurtech to serve 'underserved' adventure travel market

Roanoke Travel Insurance, a subsidiary of Munich Re Specialty Group North America, has partnered with travel insurance managing general agent (MGA) Battleface to launch adventure travel product sales in the US.

Battleface provides specialty travel insurance products through its API-driven platform. The partnership will enable the start-up to offer its products and services to US residents in the "underserved but growing market of adventure travel".

"Battleface has the technology, expertise and infrastructure in place for when the world reopens its doors. Adding in Roanoke’s travel insurance capabilities for US customers, this is a fantastic opportunity and we are excited to be working with them,’ said Lisa Conway, travel insurance division vice president at Roanoke.

Sasha Gainullin, chief executive officer of Battleface, said: "Battleface is proud to offer products that meet the needs of US travelers who face challenging situations in equally-challenging destinations. With battleface, our customers can rely on the fact that their travel insurance is as tough as they are."
