Neon appoints chief risk officer

Neon Underwriting has appointed Olly Reeves as its chief risk officer.

He will start at Neon on November 1 this year and will also join the board and executive committee of the company, reporting to Ian Martin, managing director at Neon.

Prior to this appointment, Reeves served as head of risk management at Lloyd’s of London. He joined Lloyd’s in 2004.

During his time at Lloyd’s, he played a major role in overseeing the market and delivering Lloyd’s own risk framework as well as being a key figure in Lloyd’s achieving Solvency II model approval.

Before he joined Lloyd’s, Reeves was a manager in the financial services risk management division at Ernst & Young.

“I am thrilled that Olly has decided to join Neon in this key role. Neon continues to attract the highest calibre talent and Olly’s appointment is further testament of this,” said Martin Reith, chief executive officer of Neon.

“I have no doubt that Olly will make an immediate and significant contribution as we remain on track to re-engineer our business. The Board and I are very much looking forward to working with Olly.”

Olly Reeves added: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Neon to support the business as the turnaround gathers momentum. At a time when all matters related to risk and governance are of increasing importance to successful underwriting businesses, I am looking forward to helping lead this agenda at Neon and working with Martin and the Board later in the year.”
