New reinsurance brokerage Alliant Re lures Aon MD for lead role

Alliant Re, the  recently launched reinsurance brokerage business of  Alliant Insurance Services, has tapped a managing director of Aon for the role of vice president and reinsurance lead.

Thomas C. Uzzo will be responsible for Alliant Re’s facultative and facility property reinsurance brokerage unit and various other domestic & international reinsurance property placements in this role.

Uzzo brings over four years of experience in various roles at Aon. Most recently, he served as managing director within Aon Reinsurance Solutions’ facultative property reinsurance brokerage.

Prior to Aon, Uzzo worked at Willis Towers Watson in its large & complex and middle market accounts group with Corporate Risk & Broking division. He has also previously worked at broker Marsh as risk analyst within the national brokerage risk management practice.

Alliant Re launched in April to offer tailored risk transfer solutions including facultative insurance, automatic and semiautomatic reinsurance structures, deductible buy-downs, captives, managing general underwriters (MGU) and individual risk placements and programmes.
