Nexus boosts capacity and partners

Specialty managing general agent (MGA), Nexus Underwriting, has successfully secured an increase in underwriting capacity and boosted its number of underwriting partners for 2015.

Underwriting capacity spread across its core specialty lines has increased to £109 million compared with £103 million in 2014. The group estimates that its gross written premium managed for its underwriting partners will rise to £68 million.

Nexus has also increased its product diversity through the five core specialty lines of business that it underwrites as well as an increased number of underwriting partners to 12 from 10.

Colin Thompson, chief executive officer of Nexus, said: "We would like to thank JLT Re, Arthur J Gallagher (UK), RK Harrison and our underwriting partners for their support which enables us to continue providing relevant and fast insurance solutions for our brokers and customers.

“It is great news that we have again secured from our existing and new Lloyd’s and company market underwriting partners more capacity and greater product diversity to support our 2015 growth plans across our five core lines of business. Confidence in our continued successful track record has also resulted in some of our Uunderwriting agreements being oversubscribed," he added.
