Novae poaches Brit Insurance exec for cyber role

Specialist insurance group Novae has appointed Jacqueline Spencer-Sim as class underwriter within the firm's cyber unit.  Spencer-Sim will report to Dan Trueman, unit head and will have specific responsibilities for business and relationship development in the US.  She joins the firm from Brit Insurance where she served as deputy underwriter within the Brit Global cyber, privacy and technology team. Prior to this she spent over two years within the technology and cyber team at Lockton.  Bob Patten, head of casualty at Novae, said: “Cyber is an important, growing class for Novae and one in which we are investing. Dan is building a top quality team and Jacqueline has a great reputation in the market.  "Her experience will strengthen our offering and increase the team’s ability to deliver bespoke insurance products that respond to the dynamic cyber environment.” Specer-Sim added: “Novae is a strong and increasing presence in the cyber market in London and worldwide. As such there is a great opportunity to utilise my experience and understanding of cyber risks to help develop the product range the market wants and to grow the unit in accordance with Novae’s strategy. I am very much looking forward to working with Dan and the team."
