Novae poaches MSIG exec for MAP division role

Novae, the specialist listed Lloyd’s insurer, has appointed Caroline Koczerzat as deputy head of its marine, aviation and political risk (MAP) division.

Koczerzat will report to John Owen, divisional head of MAP and will help build out Novae’s marine and specialty offering. She is currently the marine underwriting manager and head of specialty for Mitsui Sumitomo Underwriting (MSIG) at Lloyd’s, Syndicate 3210.

Prior to MSIG, Koczerzat spent 11 years with Terra Nova Insurance Company and ten years with Orion Insurance Company.

“Caroline is well respected in the industry and has a first class reputation for managing and growing profitable books of business,” said John Owen, divisional head of MAP.

“Her breadth of experience across specialty classes, particularly cargo and specie, will be advantageous as we look to build our MAP division.”

Rob Forster, chief underwriting officer at Novae Group, added: “I am delighted that Caroline will be joining us. We are committed to investing in market leading talent and Caroline’s knowledge and market profile mark her out as one of the leading underwriters.”
