PERILS hikes Turkey-Syria earthquake loss estimate to $4.9bn

Catastrophe insurance data firm PERILS has released the third loss estimate for the Kahramanmaras Earthquake Sequence of February 2023, which affected large parts of south-central Turkey and neighbouring Syria. The event marks the costliest catastrophe event in Turkey’s history.
