Piiq Risk swoops on Swiss Re to expand European footprint

Global aerospace re/insurance broker  Piiq Risk Partners has hired a senior partner from Swiss Re to expand its aviation footprint across Europe.

Based in Paris, Sylvain Devouge (pictured) will work across all aviation industry disciplines, developing re/insurance expertise and tailored solutions, and will be responsible for the drafting and negotiation of re/insurance documentation, contractual risk mitigation and claims advisory.

Devouge has 15 years of experience, the last five of which he provided Swiss Re with legal advice on commercial (re)insurance contracts as a senior contract specialist. Prior to that, he was head of Marsh France’s aviation contracts and claims team, where he built relationships with large aerospace manufacturers, maintenance, repair and overhaul companies (MROs) as well as airline clients.

Mark Costin, senior partner at Piiq, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Sylvain to the team. His significant contractual advisory and claims experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand Piiq’s aviation footprint and offering throughout Europe. Sylvain is firmly integrated in France’s robust and market-leading aerospace and manufacturing industry and he will play a central advisory role in support of our clients during a challenging period, while ensuring that coverage is in line with their needs and expectations.”
