Lloyd's Probitas expands retail business with ProSight hire

Lloyd’s syndicate Probitas 1492 appointed Marcus Bale as head of strategy and development for retail as it moves ahead with its growth plans.

Bale will be leading the expansion of the retail portfolio, which is underpinned by cross-class, bespoke product propositions aligned closely with the syndicate’s chosen distribution partners.

Bale joins Probitas from ProSight Specialty Insurance where he was an active underwriter.  He brings with him experience in strategy, business development, underwriting management and product innovation. Bale has held a variety of leadership positions in both company and Lloyd’s markets and has experience of developing commercial insurance portfolio across multiple channels of sale including direct to consumer, bank and broker.

“We’re pleased to welcome Marcus to the Probitas team at such an exciting time for our business,” Probitas CEO Ash Bathia, commented. “He brings valuable experience to the table, allowing us to continue to bring new and accretive business to the Lloyd's market through innovative solutions.”

Probitas specialises in property, construction and casualty insurance and reinsurance solutions. The syndicate can underwrite risks across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia, Latin America and Canada, with a particular focus on high growth markets.
