Prudential Group Insurance rehires former exec as chief underwriting officer

US-based Prudential Group Insurance, part of Prudential Financial, has appointed Paul Gable as its chief underwriting officer.

Gable, who worked in group benefits for The Prudential Insurance Company of America from 1990-96, rejoins the company after co-founding and being president of IBX in Alpharetta, Georgia.

In his new position, Gable’s responsibilities will include national accounts underwriting, premier accounts underwriting and underwriting excellence, the company said.

Gable will report to David Zona, chief operations officer, group insurance, working in the company's Roseland, New Jersey, office.

"Paul has deep knowledge of the group benefits industry, with experience as an entrepreneur, benefits consultant and underwriter," Zona commented. "We look forward to bringing those skills to our clients as they seek to offer benefits that contribute to their employees’ financial strength."

Prudential Group Insurance manufactures and distributes a full range of group life, long-term and short-term disability and corporate and trust-owned life insurance in the US. It is part of Prudential Financial, a financial services provider with operations in the US, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
