QBE appoints North America p/c president

Insurance company QBE has hired Robert James as property and casualty president for North America.

James has over 30 years of insurance industry experience in both commercial and personal lines. He has previously held managing director roles at both Aon Benfield and Willis Capital Markets.

Prior to that, he was president and CEO of Grange Insurance Companies, and before that, president of the Insurance Services Group at Bank of America (BoA). James has also held leadership roles at Countrywide Insurance Group, CNA Insurance, AIG, Allmerica Property & Casualty, MetLife Auto & Home and Allstate.

He will be a member of the executive management board and will report to David Duclos, North American operations CEO.
