QBE Europe hires Zurich exec

QBE European Operations has appointed Mark Platten as director of property and real estate within its retail division.

Platten is responsible for the company’s UK property and real estate portfolios of business. He will report to David Hall, managing director of retail.

He most recently served at Zurich Financial Services and has 36 years of experience in the industry.

Hall said: Mark’s extensive knowledge and background will be invaluable as we shape and build our growing Property and Real Estate portfolios.We are developing a truly client-centric proposition and Mark’s role will be instrumental in ensuring that we deliver integrated offerings that benefit both clients and brokers and which fully leverage the strengths of our products and services.”
