QBE hires new chief risk officer for Australia-New Zealand division
Re/insurer QBE Australia and New Zealand has appointed Mark Baxter as new chief risk officer, replacing Anna Gould, who takes on the new position of head of claims technical and governance.
Baxter joins QBE after serving Prudential as chief risk officer for the UK and Europe and an executive committee member until November 2015.
Prior to that, Baxter was responsible for the global financial risk and actuarial function across the UK, South Africa and North America with the Old Mutual Group and has also held a number of executive positions at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) and Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA).

"A skilled senior executive with global experience across insurance, banking, asset management and superannuation, Mark joins us at a time of heightened scrutiny for our industry. His extensive experience will guide us to further strengthen our risk management practices and reinforce a sound risk management culture.
