QBE swoops on Berkshire Hathaway for financial lines expansion

Re/insurer QBE North America has bolstered its financial lines team with four senior executive hires from Berkshire Hathaway.

The appointees have several years of experience across management liability, professional liability and financial institutions.

Danielle Librizzi joins as head of professional liability, Thomas Kocaj as head of management liability, Michael McGuinness as senior vice president of public D&O, and Adam Fleischner as senior vice president of financial institutions.

The announcement follows the recent additions of Dan Fortin as president of financial lines, and Todd Greeley as chief operating officer of financial lines.

Prior to joining QBE, all four executives worked at Berkshire Hathaway, where Librizzi was head of professional liability, Kocaj was senior vice president of financial institutions, McGuinness was vice president of executive & professional lines, and Fleischner was vice president of financial institutions.

Before joining Berkshire Hathaway between 2013 to 2015, all four worked at CNA Financial Corporation in similar roles.

Fortin said: "Danielle, Tom, Mike and Adam have proven ability to lead high-performing teams, develop innovative solutions and deliver distinctive value to clients. We are excited to have them join our team as we focus on becoming the premier choice for underwriting solutions in this important market segment."
