Rockhill launches E&S property unit with former Everest VP

The Rockhill Insurance Group, a member of the State Auto Insurance Group, has introduced an excess and surplus (E&S) property unit, a catastrophe wind and all other peril (AOP) facility focused primarily on coastal risks.

Spearheading this new unit is Tracy Upton, a specialist in the commercial property E&S market who joined from Everest Reinsurance, where he most recently served as vice president of its E&S property facility.

“One of the hallmarks of our unit is our limited wholesale distribution platform,” said Upton. “We’re committed to being a disciplined, yet formidable competitor, working through a select group of dedicated, mutually aligned wholesale partners.”

Since opening for business, Rockhill said it has already received a large number of submissions from its wholesale brokers.

Jessica Clark, senior vice president and director of commercial and specialty lines at State Auto, added: “Tracy’s expertise in the commercial property E&S market, combined with his own relationships with Rockhill’s existing wholesale partners, has already proven to be a major advantage.

“We’re excited that Tracy and the team are already quoting and writing business, and look forward to continued growth.”
