RSA hires underwriters from Marsh and XL Catlin

Insurer RSA has made two senior underwriting appointments within its Global Risk Solutions’ (GRS) UK operation.

Robert Kemp has joined RSA as property underwriting director, to head up its London-based property underwriting team and to oversee the growth and development of the UK-wide risk managed property portfolio.

Kemp joins RSA following nine years at Marsh’s Risk Management Practice where he held the position of managing director and head of placement. He previously worked within the UK & Ireland property arm of Willis.

GRS has also appointed Leigh Langton as underwriting leader. He leads a team of underwriters and wording specialists responsible for servicing and developing risk managed property, casualty and professional lines business placed by RSA’s UK regional broking partners.

Langton previously worked for NIG as a senior P&C underwriter before returning to RSA where he was broker development manager for seven years. He then joined XL Catlin as client and distribution leader, which he did for three years before accepting his newly created role at RSA.

Kemp and Langton will both report to Gary Long, director of risk managed business, UK & Wholesale.
