SCOR-Channel hires senior underwriter from Lancashire

Reinsurer SCOR and its Channel Syndicate has hired a senior political and credit risks underwriter from Lancashire Insurance.

Caroline Coulson joins as a senior underwriter on the political and credit risks team within SCOR Specialty Insurance, effective immediately. She will report to Kade Spears, global line head of the political and credit risks team.

Coulson was previously a senior political risk underwriter at Lancashire Insurance where she was responsible for underwriting their contract frustration and political risks book. Before joining Lancashire in 2009, she was a senior analyst at Aegis Defense Services. She began her career in 2001 working for a stock brokerage firm on Wall Street before starting in 2003 as an assistant vice president at Bermuda-based Sovereign Risk Insurance, a specialist political risk underwriting unit, which is part of Chubb.

Stuart McMurdo, CEO of Channel, commented: “We are pleased to have Caroline join the political and credit risks team as a senior underwriter. She brings a wealth of experience to SCOR Specialty Insurance as it continues to build its capabilities in this core specialty line.”

The Channel Syndicate is a part of SCOR's specialty insurance platform.
