SI Re appoints New Re exec as CFO

Swiss reinsurer SI Re has appointed Patrick Shumacher as chief financial officer (CFO) and member of the executive team. He succeeds Beat Landtwing who has retired after ten years with SI Re.

Schumacher will be responsible for technical finance, accounting, investments, taxes, rating agencies and IT.

He joins from New Re, where he was head of accounting since 2009. Prior to that, he held the position of head of portfolio analysis at Swiss Re global claims operation and head of reporting at Swiss Re Germany.
