SiriusPoint appoints head of VC firm that focuses on women and minority

Global specialty re/insurer  SiriusPoint has appointed the head of a US venture capital firm focused on investing in minority and women-owned companies in the healthcare and financial technology sectors.

Jason Robart (pictured), co-founder and managing partner of Seae Ventures, has joined SiriusPoint as an independent director.

Robart has formerly served as the chief strategy officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and previously as its chief human resources officer, where he led a complete overhaul of the insurer’s human capital strategies to better align them with the changing dynamics of the Massachusetts healthcare landscape. Robart was also the president and CEO of Zaffre Investments and was a principal at Mercer Human Resource Consulting.

Sid Sankaran, chairman and chief executive officer of SiriusPoint, described Robart as a “terrific addition and a great complement” to the skills and experience of the company's board of directors.

“I am delighted to welcome Jason to the SiriusPoint Board. He has outstanding credentials in financial services and human capital, and as a venture capitalist, a history of supporting entrepreneurial strategy to promote innovation and fundamental social change,” Sankaran said.
