Skuld strengthens cargo team

Marine insurer, Skuld, has appointed Andrew Lane as class underwriter for cargo and Kevin Campbell as underwriter for Skuld’s subsea and offshore operations in addition to his current risk manager role at Skuld Offshore.

Lane has 23 years’ experience in the cargo insurance market and has been one of the leading underwriters for offshore and subsea equipment in the London market.  He joins Skuld from Tokio Marine Europe where he was the chief underwriter for cargo.

Lane will have responsibility for the entire Skuld 1897 cargo account and will underwrite general cargo and offshore equipment. He will work closely with Kevin Campbell, who has extensive operational experience in subsea and offshore operations, and brings a unique aspect to the offshore insurance market. Lane will remain in Skuld's Aberdeen office.

“Andy has long been one of the leading underwriters his field and to have someone of his experience and calibre leading the team will be invaluable to our cargo team,” said Bernt Hellman, active underwriter at Skuld 1897.

“I’d also like to congratulate Kevin on his new role as underwriter, I am convinced that he and Andy will form a formidable team, and that they have the knowledge and skill to establish Skuld 1897 as the leading market in this specialist field."

Lane added: “This is an exciting move for me and I look forward to working with the team at Skuld 1897 as it continues to go from strength to strength.”
