Sompo nabs AIG distribution guru to grow N. American commercial reach

Sompo International nabbed a US retail insurance distribution leader from AIG to lead sales and build out the structures it will leverage for growth in the commercial insurance segment in a newly crafted role of executive vice president for field management for North American commercial insurance.

Ron Willett (Pictured) brings over 30 years of industry experience to Sompo, most recently as the North America retail distribution leader at AIG, where he has spent the last 26 years.

Willett will be responsible for leading the geographic expansion efforts while continuing to build the field infrastructure for the North America commercial insurance business, Sompo explained.

Sompo International’s head of distribution, business development and client engagement for North America, Jonathon Monks, commented: “Adding Ron to our team demonstrates our commitment toward business development activities focused on distribution management, client engagement, and expanding our regional geographic footprint. We are very excited to have him join Sompo International's North American Region Insurance leadership team.”
