SterlingRisk expands into entertainment market

SterlingRisk Programs, a division of independently-owned insurance brokerage SterlingRisk Insurance, is expanding its offering to include individuals working under the entertainment umbrella.

The company's new programme, Sterling Select Entertainment Insurance, is designed to serve sound and lighting engineers, production companies, dance troupes, trade associations, and other organisations comprised of entertainment industry professionals.

The programme provides worldwide coverage for all types of equipment used in the entertainment business for losses ranging from theft, accidental breakage and fire to vandalism, water damage and earthquakes.

Geraldine DelPrete, president of SterlingRisk Programs, said: “For over 20 years, our team has been dedicated to protecting the type of property that is unique to the worlds of entertainment and entertainment services. Though our emphasis has been on meeting the insurance needs of working music professionals, we have forged significant marketplace relationships and are expanding our service offerings to photographers, videographers, theatre companies, broadcasters, and most professional groups working under the entertainment umbrella.”

DelPrete added: “It’s the same model we employ to such great success with our other specialty programs. People actually become fans. They love that everything is designed for ease-of-reporting through an easy-to-navigate website. We also use strength of numbers to keep premiums lower, since we aggregate professionals into special industry groups. It’s a win-win for everyone involved and we’re honored to expand our offerings to the dedicated men and women who keep today’s entertainment industry so vibrant.”
