SterlingRisk taps construction sector specialist as vice president

Insurance brokerage SterlingRisk has hired an industry veteran with special expertise serving construction clients for the position of vice president.

Sean Flaherty (pictured) possesses a multifaceted background that spans loss control, risk management, property and casualty, surety, and employee benefits.

He has held various positions within the brokerage community, and joins SterlingRisk from a national insurance broker where he served as managing advisor and regional construction team leader. For more than 20 years prior to entering the insurance industry, Flaherty worked for a family owned and operated construction company.

Flaherty holds a Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation from the International Risk Management Institute in addition to certifications from SUNY Delhi (Construction Management) and the Posh Institute (Property & Casualty Broker).

“Sean’s vast experience managing sophisticated risk management programs makes him a highly valued resource to contractors throughout our platform,” said David Sterling, CEO of SterlingRisk. “His experience and extensive market relationships will support our teams on strategic new business and existing client engagements. The entire organisation joins me in welcoming Sean to SterlingRisk.”

“Sean brings with him firsthand knowledge of the New York City construction industry,” concluded Sterling. “We look forward to his many contributions at SterlingRisk as we design and deploy insurance and risk management solutions to a growing client base in the construction sector.”
