Strategic Risk continues expansion in ILS with senior hire

Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) has appointed Anna Pereira to the newly-created position of senior vice president, insurance-linked securities (ILS), as part of its ongoing expansion in the ILS and fund administration sectors.

Based in Bermuda and reporting to managing director Jonathan Reiss, Pereira will take up her new role on March 1.

Pereira has over 25 years of experience in the insurance, reinsurance, alternative risk transfer and capital markets in Bermuda. She is currently a director and co-founder of MANA Consulting and for the last six years has specialised in ILS and collateralised reinsurance for transformer entities and fronting carriers.

She was head of treasury for Horseshoe Group and, prior to that, was head of captive and insurance banking at HSBC Bank Bermuda where she was instrumental in leading the bank’s ILS initiative and growth in Bermuda and the US.

Pereira has also held various underwriting positions with Chubb Financial Solutions, Quanta Re, and Everest Re in Bermuda and has experience in financial guarantee, financial lines and casualty insurance/reinsurance underwriting. She currently leads marketing and overseas promotion for ILS Bermuda, which operates as a non-profit organisation. She has served on ILS Bermuda’s Steering Committee since its inception.
