Swiss Re Corporate Solutions launches in Frankfurt

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has opened an office in Frankfurt, Germany, to boost its presence in the German commercial insurance market.

The office's initial focus will be providing property and surety products to corporations in Germany.

Sigurd Jander, who appears to be a former Zurich executive, has joined to lead the European surety business. He will be based in Frankfurt.

Tony Buckle, head of Europe, Middle East & Africa for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, said: "The office in Frankfurt broadens our presence in Germany and opens up new opportunities. It is a concrete example of how we combine proximity to clients with our value proposition of underwriting expertise, innovation and financial stability."

Kuno Linder, country manager Germany for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, added: "We see attractive growth opportunities in the German markets for property and surety, Europe's largest and second largest, respectively. In time, the office will offer our broad range of products and services to German clients."
