The Hartford appoints international insurance lead

Property & casualty insurer The Hartford has appointed Sean Genden as head of international insurance effective December 16, 2019. Genden will be based in London and report to the head of global specialty Vince Tizzio.

Prior to joining The Hartford, Genden held a number of leadership roles at Travelers’ Insurance including CEO of their Lloyd’s managing agency, CEO of the UK domiciled insurance company and most recently their International Business Insurance Segment lead.

“Sean is a proven international insurance leader who has built a strong reputation in the industry and with our partner, Lloyd’s of London”, said Tizzio. “His experience driving profitable business growth while balancing appropriate risk-taking will be key as we fully integrate this business, which is part of the recent acquisition of Navigators, with The Hartford and build our long-term international strategy.”
