TigerRisk swoops for Guy Carpenter talent in Florida

Reinsurance broking and risk/capital management firm TigerRisk Partners has appointed Brian O’Neill as partner and client executive for Florida business.

O’Neill was most recently managing director and head of Guy Carpenter’s Tampa office. He started his career at Guy Carpenter in reinsurance claims and transitioned to P&C broking. He also spent several years at JLT Re where he was the head of the natural catastrophe practice.

In his new role, O’Neill will be responsible for the development of property catastrophe solutions in Florida and other coastal states. He will be based in Tampa.

Wade Gulbransen, head of North American operations at TigerRisk, said: “Brian is one of the industry’s foremost experts on property-casualty reinsurance in Florida. His highly specialized knowledge and years of experience will be a tremendous asset to TigerRisk and our clients.”

O’Neill said: “Helping clients build and retain profitable books of business is particularly difficult given the legal environment, fraud issues, reinsurance costs, competition, etc. TigerRisk’s commitment to client advocacy was a deciding factor in my joining the organization.”
