Tokio Marine Kiln appoints managing director for Asia
Specialist insurer Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has promoted Alex Dugand to regional managing director for Asia, reporting to James Dover, group chief financial officer.
Dugand was previously regional underwriting director for TMK’s Asia division, a role he held for the past two years. Dugand has been with TMK for over a decade.
In his new role, Dugand will oversee TMK’s Asian business, spanning the Hong Kong, Singapore and China markets. Kin Lau, country head of Hong Kong and Susanna Quek, country head of Singapore will report to Dugand.
Commenting on the appointment, CEO Charles Franks said: “I am delighted to announce Alex’s promotion to the role of regional managing director, Asia. Alex is an accomplished underwriter whose regional market expertise, skill in building profitable books of business and ability to foster collaboration between our Asia teams and international offices have been core drivers of growth for TMK. Alex’s appointment is reflective of TMK’s commitment to supporting our employees’ advancement and their ability to progress through the ranks.
