Tokio Marine Kiln launches drone insurance

Tokio Marine Kiln, the dual platform provider of specialist and corporate insurance, has launched what it claims is the first comprehensive insurance product for drone insurance in the Lloyd’s market.

Recently launched at the AUVSI Unmanned Systems conference in Atlanta, US, the product, One Unmanned, offers clients protection under a single wording featuring multiple coverages.

Jay Wigmore, Tokio Marine Kiln aviation underwriter who developed the product, said: “Today’s launch reaffirms our position as the ‘go to’ market leader in this rapidly growing class of business.

“From filming Hollywood blockbusters to surveying oil platforms and even loss adjusting, we have seen a dramatic increase in the commercial use of UASs, and the risk profiles of our clients are changing as a consequence.
