TransRe reveals swathe of leadership changes as it overhauls structure

Alleghany-owned  TransRe has overhauled its underwriting operating structure with a host of leadership changes, in a move the reinsurer hopes will position it to maximise growth opportunities in a changing business environment.

Paul McKeon has been promoted to president of regional markets. In his new global role, McKeon will lead TransRe’s underwriting and market operations. The regional teams reporting to McKeon will continue to be responsible for executing local market strategies, deal underwriting, marketing and client/broker development.

As part of this change, Kyle Rhodes, who has most recently led TransRe’s Asia Pacific region, will be promoted to president of North America. Andy Taylor has been promoted to lead TransRe’s International team which includes the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific regions, while Jorge Beltran will lead its Latin American region. All three will report directly to McKeon.

Elizabeth Geary will move to become president of global portfolio management. In her new global role, Geary will lead a team focused on underwriting portfolio analysis, including delivering technical insights to support our local teams and their clients and brokers.

The underwriting portfolio management team reporting to Geary will include Lisa Moser, global property leader; Brian Finlay, global professional liability leader; and Keith Trigg, global casualty leader. Geary will also retain her current role as CUO for North America, supporting Rhodes and his team.

Meanwhile in Asia Pacific, TransRe has promoted Rob Saville to president and Fiona Au to chief operating officer (COO) for the region. In their new roles, Saville and Au will continue to develop closer relationships among the region’s clients and brokers, while continuing to build out synergies across TransRe’s regional offices. These changes follow the promotion of Rhodes.

Within its international division, apart from Taylor's promotion to president, TransRe has elevated Louise Rose to president of Europe. Rose will continue to lead the reinsurer's London operations as CEO of TransRe London and will also have TransRe’s Continental European team report to her.

Jonathan Hewitt will continue as CEO of TransRe Europe S.A. and will report directly to Rose.

TransRe has made changes to its casualty/liability team structure to better position the company to take advantage of market opportunities, deliver improved insight and service.

Keith Trigg is promoted to global casualty leader. In this newly created portfolio management role, he will report to Liz Geary, president of global portfolio management. In addition, Trigg will continue to manage the UK general liability book of business, in which role he will continue to report to Doug Murray.

Finally, the reinsurer has adjusted its professional liability structure, promoting Brian Finlay to global professional liability leader. In this newly created global role, Finlay will report to Geary.

Danny Hojnowski will take over Finlay's role as US D&O/E&O treaty department manager. He has worked in both facultative and treaty since joining TransRe. In his new role, Hojnowski will report to Kyle Rhodes.

Nick Tzaneteas, who has been instrumental in developing TransRe’s professional liability portfolio, as well as guiding multiple teams through challenging cycles of the market, will retire from the company.

In order to focus on driving Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives and reporting requirements, the company has promoted Craig Hupper and Brett Denyer.

"These changes reflect the changing business environment in which TransRe operates, and positions TransRe to maximize opportunities. All promotions are from within, reflecting the strength and depth of talent at TransRe," the company said in a statement.
