TypTap approved to write business in Connecticut as US expansion continues

TypTap Insurance Group, the technology-driven insurance company and subsidiary of HCI Group, has received regulatory approval to write homeowners insurance in Connecticut.

TypTap launched in 2016 with a mission to use technology, data and analytics to simplify the insurance experience. It uses its proprietary, online platform to quote and bind policies, supported by algorithms and artificial intelligence to help identify policies that deliver profitable results and mitigate risk.

TyTap has now received approvals in 12 states outside of Florida.

HCI Group has subsidiaries engaged in businesses including homeowners’ insurance, reinsurance, real estate, and information technology services.
