UK insurtech Ripe expands into commercial insurance

Insurtech specialist Ripe Insurance has launched a new commercial insurance product targeting small business owners.

The product aims to offer small business owners a policy tailored to their needs in a quick and simple way.

Ripe’s digital business model helps reducing prices allows customers to build the policy they want, giving business owners real control, unmatched speed and great value, the company claims.

Ripe Insurance for small business focuses on providing firms – whether companies, partnerships, freelancers or the self-employed – with the public liability and employers’ liability they need to protect their business.

“We have carried out detailed analysis to understand what small businesses actually need,” said Ripe Insurance CEO Colin Whitehead. “Put simply, owners want to know they have the right protection, but they don’t want to waste money on unnecessary cover or go through unbearably long quote processes. And they are tired of poor service. Our aim is to appeal to the five million businesses in the UK with 10 employees or less by allowing them to build their perfect insurance policy.”
