Validus poaches JLT political risks head in the US

Validus Specialty, a member of American International Group (AIG), has hired a senior JLT executive to lead its US political risk and credit insurance team based in New York.

Corina Monaghan was previously head of political risks for JLT North America where she spearheaded consulting and brokerage of crisis management.

Validus Specialty provides brokers and clients in the Americas political risk and credit insurance capacity from the Lloyd’s market, offering commercial counterparty, sovereign and country risks across a wide variety of sectors, geographies and structured trade finance products.

With Monaghan's hire, Validus Specialty intends to build on their established $255 million binding authority, as well as its own dedicated capacity.
