VIG Re appoints chief financial officer

Reinsurer, Vienna Insurance Group Re (VIG), has hired Ivana Jurčíková as its chief financial officer (CFO), effective September 1.

Prior to VIG Re, Jurčíková has been heavily involved in finance for international financial services groups and advisory firms, having previously held the position of financial controller for Provident Financial.

Before this, she worked for AXA Bank Europe where she served as CFO for the Czech Republic and Slovakia until 2013.

Jurčíková also spent 11 years at Citibank, where she had various senior management titles, including the role of CFO until 2005.

Johannes Hartmann, chairman of the managing board of VIG Re, said: “Ivana has a 20 years management experience in finance and controlling, with a proven track record in project management and process improvements.

“With these qualities, she will be pivotal for the execution of our growth strategy. I am excited to have her on board as a new member of the management team.”

Karl Fink, chairman of VIG Re’s supervisory board, added: “I am very glad that we could win Ivana to join VIG Re’s management board. Her strong knowledge in financial management in combination with international experience will contribute to the achievement of our company’s goals.”
