World Bank Group's MIGA names head of reinsurance

The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the political risk insurance and credit enhancement arm of the World Bank Group, has appointed Frank Linden as head of reinsurance.

In his new role, Linden will be responsible for implementing MIGA’s reinsurance strategy in order to optimise the use of its capital, to syndicate and reinsure exposure that exceeds MIGA’s desired net retention levels, and to develop and maintain relationships with MIGA’s existing and prospective reinsurers.

Linden joined MIGA in 2010 as a senior risk management officer. Since 2016, he has managed MIGA’s State-Owned Enterprise Credit and Reinsurance Credit Risk in MIGA’s finance and risk department.

Prior to MIGA, he was a director in the New York headquarters of Merrill Lynch & Co. (now part of Bank of America) where he managed the firm’s country and sovereign credit risk exposure within the firm’s corporate risk management department.

Santiago Assalini, director of finance and risk at MIGA, said: “Frank’s extensive knowledge and experience is a tremendous asset for MIGA. His relationships across the market will help MIGA strengthen the Agency’s work with reinsurers and mobilize private capital in support of development results on the ground.”
