WR Berkley's Lloyd's managing agent builds property team

W/R/B Underwriting, a part of WR Berkley Corporation, has strengthened its property team with three new senior underwriting hires.

The Lloyd’s Managing Agency has appointed Olly Durell, Dan Black and Sarah Reeve.

Black joins as senior underwriter after 10 years experience in the global direct and facultative (D&F) property. Reeve who has also joined as Senior Underwriter, has over 13 years’ global property underwriting experience, most recently in Singapore.

Durell will join W/R/B Underwriting as senior property underwriter in May. He is currently global property underwriter at a FTSE 250 insurer where he has been since 2013.

Alastair Blades, chief executive of W/R/B Underwriting, said: “We write a global book of D&F property business though Lloyd’s and these senior underwriting additions will certainly add strength and depth to an already experienced and successful team. As our recent underwriting results have shown, we operate a robust and profitable business with a consistent approach to our brokers and clients. We call this ‘Intelligent Underwriting’.

“I would like to welcome Dan, Sarah and Olly to W/R/B Underwriting. Each one of them comes with an impressive track record and reputation within the market. I am looking forward to working with them and delivering on our promises to our brokers and clients in these most testing of times.”
